It’s 8:40 pm and I’m definitely ready to leave my little cube at work and go home. I’d rather be home with my wife or walking my dog or being with the other men at the Tuesday night bible study or several others places but here I sit…alone.
First Corinthians 10:31 says “Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” I love that verse because it takes the glorifying of our Lord down to the very mundane and simple things in life. If I simply take the time to thank Him for the priviledge of knowing Him I can be content no matter where I am. John Piper said, “God is most glorified in me when I am most satisfied in Him.” I can be satisfied in God no matter where I am or who I’m with. It’s a good thing to remember when I’d rather be somewhere else…like home!
If Paul can glorify God from cold dark prison, I can glorify Him from a stuffy semi-lighted cubicle. It starts with just being thankful…so I’m going to be very thankful as I go home.
